In 2022, Liz's twin sister introduced her to the "Dishing Up Nutrition" podcast, suggesting it might be beneficial since Liz lived nearby in Minnesota. Intrigued, Liz immediately contacted Nutritional Weight & Wellness to schedule a consultation with a nutritionist experienced in breast cancer survivorship and overall wellness. She was connected with Melanie Beasley, RD, LD a fellow breast cancer survivor, and they quickly formed a deep connection. “[Melanie] has such a warm compassionate heart and just a caring love for others,” Liz said.
At 49, Liz faced multiple health challenges, including breast cancer recovery and autoimmune disorders, leading to significant inflammation and digestive issues. “I was just full of inflammation. My gut was a mess. Nothing seemed to be right. And I was just really struggling and frustrated,” Liz said. Melanie recommended a FODMAP diet, eliminating dairy, soy, sugar, and wheat. Liz adhered strictly to this regimen and, within three weeks, experienced remarkable improvements in her health.
Melanie also suggested a bone density test and other specific evaluations pertinent to breast cancer survivors. Following Melanie's guidance, Liz has maintained her health journey for nearly three years. She continues to see her dietitian Melanie regularly, drawing inspiration from Melanie's extensive knowledge and compassionate support. “She is not only just a master in her profession with knowledge of science and research, but she has the biggest caring, compassionate heart that just extends and alludes into everything she does. And the thing about Nutritional Weight & Wellness that I learned is that it's not a diet plan. It's really a lifestyle,” Liz said.
Reflecting on her experience, Liz emphasized that Nutritional Weight & Wellness offers more than a diet plan; it promotes a sustainable lifestyle change. She encourages others facing health and nutrition challenges to reach out to Nutritional Weight & Wellness, confident in their ability to provide transformative assistance. “I just want to pass this forward to anybody who might be struggling or not sure where to go with your health and nutrition.
