Last year, I decided I wanted to lose weight. I didn’t like the way I looked and felt uncomfortable in my clothes. I needed help, and I felt like good nutrition was the answer to losing the weight, so my mom looked into it and found the Nutrition 4 Weight Loss Program. I’m so glad she helped me find this program because it has changed my life!
I wanted to lose weight, but I was also hoping to end my constant stomach cramps and daily anxiety. I was totally dedicated to changing my food choices; I showed up to class each week and felt better within a few weeks.
In less than a year I lost 70 pounds* and 50 inches! I feel so much better. I’m more confident in my clothes! Losing weight was my goal, but there have been other changes to my health too. My anxiety is so much better. There were many times I’d feel so anxious I didn’t want to go anywhere. I wasn’t comfortable eating in front of other people and felt safer in the house. Now I like going out to shop, and I don’t experience the anxiety like I used to.
My digestion also improved! My stomach cramps have gone away and I no longer experience digestive problems like I used to. One surprise for me has been my focus and attention in school. Before I was so distracted by my weight and other thoughts that I had a hard time paying attention in class. This year, I’m focused and have maintained an A average all year!
In my counseling appointment with Britni, she helped me figure out healthy snack options for school and worked with me to figure out when I could eat them between classes. She sent me home with lots of meal and recipe ideas. And I learned so many new things from the weekly class. Coming to the classes was definitely key for me staying accountable.
At first, it was hard for me to take junk food and diet pop out of my diet, and sometimes it still can be hard when I go to a friend’s house and am offered unhealthy foods. It’s been easier for me to stay on my healthy eating plan once I realized how terrible I feel when I eat junk foods and fast food.
I’m here to share that eating real food for weight loss works! I am proof. I’m 14 years old and changed from feeling uncomfortable with my body, anxious and not attentive in school, to a confident, successful, and focused student. I love how I feel!
